My Core Value = FREEDOM

The absence of freedom drove me to break free from mainstream thinking and create my own path. Owning a conventional hair salon only let me express a fraction of myself, and I craved more. After five years in the traditional business world and over 20 years in the beauty industry, burnout and stress led to chronic illness. Caught in the grip of capitalism, I realized I loved the work I was doing as a hairstylist but felt stifled by the toxic norms of the salon world. I also felt disconnected from my other gifts/ trades, community, culture and ultimately, neglectful of myself.

Creating my own private haven has allowed me to blend all my talents and passions into one canvas on people I intentionally choose to spend time with. Here, I practice ancestral healing methods, engage in ritualistic haircutting, energy work, and other beautiful healing and visual arts. It's a uniquely enchanting space that is like none other.

I share my story in the hope that others, especially queer women of color, will see they have the power to pursue their dreams, boldly claiming their space to create something new and extraordinary. Discover your values, live by them, and create something that truly reflects your essence. The journey may have challenges, but remember: you are brave, strong, and capable of finding happiness.

Indeed, finding happiness is a revolutionary act. Let’s lead by example.
