BENDERS' offers competitive commission based rates (for both service and products), as well as booth rental opportunities to support the development of your unique needs. We provide a safe and collaborative work environment, ongoing education, professional development, and a communicative and supportive management staff. We also provide most necessary work supplies to include: custom cutting aprons, custom wet capes, laundry service and towels, styling products and back-bar, REDKEN color, OWAY organic color, beverage services, receptionist, online booking and business cards. We aren't just doing fierce hair, we are impacting the lives of our clients and community. We are empowering ourselves, our staff, and our community while developing a team of boundary busters in the beauty industry.
BENDERS' is looking for hair and makeup artists for booth rental or commission based positions. We are currently accepting applications for hire by February 14th, 2019.
Provide excellent service to clients while co-creating custom style through:
Study of facial features and projecting potential styles
Creation of open communication with client through consultation and active seeking of feedback
Recommendation based on income, desire, personal style and comfort level
Analyzing hair condition and providing proper treatment
Contribute to BENDERS’ culture of compassion and expression through:
Openness and interest in serving the LGBTQ+ community with excellence
Interest in honest and open communication with clients and staff
Willingness to work in a highly progressive and feedback oriented environment
Following state board standards and legal regulations
Obtains revenue by recording and collecting charges
General understanding of completing and filing 1099 tax documents
Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing publications (training and support provided.)
Skills & Qualifications:
California cosmetology license must be current and in good standing. Must have competency in craft, openness to feedback and coaching, queer/trans competency (training and support provided). Must be strong in Engaged Listening, Supply Management, Analyzing Information, Customer Focus, Client Relationships, Organization, Creativity, Attention to Detail, Confidentiality, Professionalism, and Verbal Communication.
